BEHIND THE BLONDE...

Well, hello there!

If you’re on this page of my website, I’m assuming you’d like to find out a little bit more behind this blonde, and currently NYC based actress/singer!

I have to confess that I now realize I am truly blessed to be where I am in this amazing journey of life that I am on, as it continually takes me to new places, and like any fingerprint, is uniquely my own. I have lived, worked, and performed in three major world cities: Glasgow, London, and New York City in the past decade, in that order—something I never intentionally sat down and mapped out to do, but simply happened, and a privilege of which I am extremely grateful.

After I moved back to the US, and with a quick first ever visit to NYC to see if I’d like it, I decided in the grind of the city was where I needed to be. It's hard to believe, but I'm now in my eighth year here in the Big Apple. In this time I've become a member of both SAG-AFTRA and Actor's Equity Association unions where there are many doors of opportunity and possibility! Key projects that have left an impact on me most recently have been singing in an episode of 'Gotham'; a photoshoot for FX's FOSSE/VERDON; a performing on stage in a workshop production of 'The Bachelor Girls' ; standing in for the principle actress, Lizzie Brocheré on USA's 'Falling Water', Season 1; the Cinemax series 'The Knick' as Dispensary Nurse in a scene with Clive Owen; being featured in Woody Allen's 'Cafe Society' with Blake Lively and Jesse Eisenberg; and as a 1920s silent film starlet in a Bayer Pharmaceutical print ad for the 'Men Who Speak Up' campaign, shot by international photographer Ale Burset, just to name a few! Ready for bigger projects on both screen and stage, I'm excited to see what all this year holds next!

Originally from Ohio, I attended Point Park University’s Conservatory of Performing Arts, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, graduating with a BA Theatre Arts focused in Musical Theatre. From there, I then returned to Ohio, where I worked professionally in theatre, primarily musicals, for four years at various regional theatres such as The Cleveland Play House and Actors’ Summit Theater. Working alongside so many inspiring actors and wanting to become a bit better-rounded and focused in my performance abilities, I then continued my training at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland (formerly the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama) in Glasgow, graduating with an MA Classical and Contemporary Text Acting degree.

While in the UK during my training at RCS, highlights included work with Globe Education where I studied and performed on the famous stage of Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre, in a month long residency; work on the development of a new Globe-commissioned play God of Soho  with Scottish playwright Chris Hannan of which its initial draft was performed in Glasgow (Tron Theatre), Edinburgh (Traverse Theatre), and London (Hampstead Theatre); along with other various eclectic pieces of workshop based training in Chekhov, Gardzienice-based physical theatre using Greek tragedies, Nadine George Voice Studio International vocal technique, and even an oddly delightful laughter yoga session.

Upon completion of my degree at RCS, with a two year post-study visa in hand, I moved with hope and expectation to London. In London I had the privilege to work on various projects, where favorite performances included: work on new musicals written by Caroline Wigmore performed at the Waterloo East Theatre; performing on the West End stage of the Apollo Victoria in my church Hillsong London’s musical presentation of ‘Jesus at the Apollo’ as a troubled inmate who asks the question ‘Who was Jesus?’; and a six week, 36-show Off-West End run of the UK premiere of Cole Porter’s ‘Jubilee’ at the Tabard Theatre as the obnoxiously effervescent socialite Eva Standing.

When not rehearsing or performing, I am attending auditions and workshops whenever possible, working on song and monologue repetoire, tweaking my website, and researching and culling my list of prospective casting directors I’d like to work with. I’m expectant, hopeful, and excited to see what is going to happen next in my life, as the ride has certainly been eventful so far!

I also love singing while cooking (pancakes in particular), dancing while waiting at a subway stop or while contemplating items to purchase at the grocery store, getting caught without an umbrella in warm rain, God’s spectacular show of lightning and thunder, making detailed  drawings with my graphite and colored pencils, and stopping to take pictures of everything that I find beautiful (I love lines...both theatrical and visual!).
